Dr. Sam Akhavan
   Doctor Sam Akhavan is an orthopaedic surgeon and  Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine doctor.  He is a member of the Orthopaedic Department at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  He performs complex arthroscopic surgery in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries.  He is also a team physician for several professional sports teams in the Pittsburgh area.

  At Allegheny General Hospital, Dr. Sam Akhavan is the Fellowship Director for the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship and an active member of the teaching staff.  He is also the Medical Director for the Human Motion Training Academy

  Dr Sam Akhavan and his staff are specially trained to address all sports medicine needs of athletes, whether they are a paid professional,a high school athlete or the every-day weekend warrior.  In our office, all patients are treated with the same high quality level of care.
